AlphaNa Bioscience Advances Programmable Immune Technologies Through National Infectious Disease Research Initiative
2026/1/29

Shanghai Jiao Tong University has launched a national research initiative focused on trained immunity for emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, bringing together leading academic institutions and biotechnology partners, including AlphaNa Bioscience. The initiative aims to advance fundamental discoveries and translational technologies for next-generation approaches in infectious disease prevention and immune modulation.

Advancing Next-Generation Immune Technologies

Trained immunity is an emerging immunological concept in which innate immune cells acquire enhanced functional responses after stimulation, providing new opportunities for developing broader and more durable approaches to infectious disease prevention.

AlphaNa's Contribution Through TALENT Platform

As a core participating organization, AlphaNa Bioscience is leading a key research sub-project focused on strategies to enhance trained immunity against emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.

Through its proprietary TALENT platform, AlphaNa integrates programmable RNA design, precision delivery technologies, and immune-cell engineering capabilities to develop next-generation medicines. The platform is designed to enable targeted delivery of nucleic acid therapeutics and programmable modulation of immune cell functions in vivo.

This research initiative further expands the application of AlphaNa’s technology platforms in infectious disease and immune engineering, supporting the company’s broader efforts to develop innovative RNA-based medicines.

Executive Comment

“This collaboration reflects AlphaNa’s commitment to advancing programmable immune technologies,” said Yi Yang, Executive Vice President of AlphaNa Bioscience. “By combining RNA delivery and immune engineering capabilities, we aim to develop new approaches for infectious disease prevention and immune modulation.”
